July 13: Plan Questioned
Sen. John McCain's plan to give tax credits of $2,500 and $5,000 sounds real good. If I don't make enough money to file a tax return and file one, but do now owe, what good is this plan? It is supposed to help those in need, but this won't work for folks who have to go to emergency rooms.

How does he plan to monitor to find out if people are using the deduction for health insurance?

Will this mean employers will not have to furnish health insurance to employees? A bunch of government employees probably will be hired to oversee this program. That will help the employment figures that are not so good now. Not sure we need more government employees, though.
