Junior League Has ‘Christmas In July’
The Junior League of Tyler Inc. is partnering with The Cascades and the Texas PGA for “Christmas in July, Gifts from the Sky,” JLT spokesperson Heather H. Pickett said.
The event, to be held at 6 p.m. July 16 at the Cascades, is a helicopter golf ball drop with all proceeds to be returned to the community through the work of the JLT. Golf balls are $20 each or six for $100.
“All of the sold golf balls will be taken up in the helicopter and ‘Santa’ will drop them over a green. The three closest to the pin will win,” Ms. Pickett said.
The grand prize is a four-day Disney family vacation for four.
Second prize is $1,000 in gasoline, courtesy of Food Fast, and third prize is a round of golf for two four-somes at the Cascades with lunch.
“Christmas in July, Gifts from the Sky,” is a precursor event to the 30th anniversary of Mistletoe & Magic, the primary funding source of the JLT.
