Brook Hill Cheer Squad Scores Well At Camp

The Brook Hill Middle School Cheer Squad went to UCA Cheer Camp at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA, June 24-27 and scored well.
The squad consisted of 10 girls who attended to gain skills, technique and take cheer to a new level. The squad accomplished several goals set by the members prior to camp. They always kept in mind their 2008 team motto, “to the valiant heart, nothing is impossible.”
The Brook Hill squad received superior ribbons each night, which led to the Camp Championships on the final day. While at camp, there were several competitions and awards.
Gabby Green (seventh grade) won First Place in the ‘Jump Off’ competition.
Macie Ridgley (sixth grade) was a finalist in that same competition. UCA instructors selected Timber Garner (eighth grade), as an All-Star Cheerleader.
The Middle School Squad competed in the Camp Championships on the last day. The squad won first place in the Home Pom Routine for creativity and a flawless performance. They also won first place in the Extreme Routine which consisted of dance, cheer and stunting.

One UCA instructor said the routine the Brook Hill Cheerleaders performed was, “the most unique routine that I’ve seen all summer,” and she has seen more than 100.
Brook Hill also received a second-place trophy for Camp Cheer and another first-place Trophy for rating Superior consistently throughout the week. To top it off, The Brook Hill Middle School Cheer Squad has been invited to perform at the Capitol One Bowl in Orlando, Fla., in December 2008.
