House Fire On Old Omen Road
Tyler Police Department officers block a section of Old Omen Road in Tyler while firefighters worked to extinguish a house Wednesday evening.

When firefighters arrived at the home in the 2200 block of Old Omen Road at around 8:30 p.m. flames were visible from the front of the one-story brick home.

Fire department officials said the homeowner, or his son who live in the house, was not home at the time of the fire.

While investigators have not determined the cause of the fire, the damage was significant.

Fans were placed in front of the home to clear smoke from the house, and firefighters said the living room of the two-bedroom home was destroyed.
