Tyler Motorcycle Officer Struck By Truck
A Tyler police motorcycle officer was struck by a truck this morning and is being treated at East Texas Medical Center, said Don Martin, police information officer.

James Lenderman was southbound on Donnybrook at Wilma when the accident occurred about 10:15 a.m., Martin said. He suffered injuries to his right leg and hand.

The driver of the truck heading westbound was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way at the stop sign, Martin said.

Lenderman has been a motorcycle officer for 15 years, Martin said.

Tyler Police Department has investigated 36 motorcycle accidents so far this year, 25 of which resulted in injuries.
