Chance For Showers Today, Thursday
A weak cold front will approach the region Wednesday evening, bringing a slight chance for showers to the north Wednesday and to most of the area on Thursday.
The sea-breeze brought a few isolated showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon. With areal coverage of about 10 percent, these were along and south of a Palestine-Crockett line, and were dissipating with nightfall. Coverage Wednesday should increase to about 20 percent, and to about 30 percent for Thursday before decreasing Friday.
Tuesday was much as the past several days have been: Partly cloudy, warm, and rather humid. High readings in the middle to upper 90s are forecast beginning Saturday.
Temperatures Tuesday ran near those of Monday, and were near normal. Readings Wednesday may lower slightly, with Thursday and Friday temperatures running near normal.
Low temperatures Tuesday morning were from the high 60s in the east to the middle 70s in the west. Similar morning lows are forecast Wednesday through Friday. Afternoon highs were in the 90s, with low to mid-90 degree readings forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.
Tuesday’s average relative humidity was 63 percent, with similar values likely Wednesday and slightly higher values for Thursday and Friday.
