July 6: Good Coverage
RAVES: Send roses to the Tyler Courier-Times--Telegraph for including the Smith County Historical Society Museum & Archives in their Sunday, June 29th Discover section article on places to visit in Tyler.

Also included was the Camp Ford Historic Park, for which the Society acts as caretaker.

These free attractions are "jewels" often overlooked by local citizens and tourists, which is a shame for there is important history to be learned from both of them. Thanks to the newspaper for getting the word out.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the archives are open on Wednesday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Also check the website for these attractions. Information on the Smith County Historical Society Museum & Archives and the Camp Ford Historic Park can be found at www.smithcountyhistoricalsociety.org
