July 6: More Compassion
RANT: I believe this is worth publishing. Recently, my husband and I were stopped at the red light on Rice and Bullard Road around 12:30 p.m. I looked up to see a small kitten in the middle of the intersection with cars crossing on Bullard - the kitten looked terrified as it tried to dodge the oncoming cars. It was only a few seconds later that it was hit by two cars and collapsed in the middle of the intersection.

At that moment the light changed for cars on Rice to cross over Bullard. No one moved - the kitten lay fighting for life. Then a young man, first in line, got out of his car, walked over to the kitten, carefully picked it up, cradled it in his arms and carried it to his car. The tenderness he displayed was heartwarming. Traffic then moved on with everyone watching touched by the caring of this young man. More people like him are needed in this rotten world.

Roses to the young man and Rants to the two drivers who saw the kitten and proceeded on their way.
