Warm, Dry Weather Expected This Week

The weak frontal boundary which brought showers to the north Friday afternoon had retreated northward, with the nearest rain from that source over Eastern Arkansas about 325 miles northeast of Tyler.
By 6 p.m., a few isolated showers had formed along the Texas/Louisiana border. The nearest to Tyler was 60 miles east over Harrison County. Saturday’s temperatures ran near Friday’s, and were near normal. Temperatures on Sunday and Monday should be similar.
Low readings Saturday morning were from the high 60s in the east to the lower 70s in the remainder of the region. Low readings should be in the 70s over the next few mornings. Afternoon high temperatures were from near 90 to the middle 90s, with high temperatures a degree or so warmer Sunday through Tuesday.
Skies were fair overnight and Saturday morning, and partly cloudy during the afternoon.
with fair weather cumulus. Similar sky conditions are likely through Tuesday. Saturday’s winds were southerly to southwesterly at 5-15 mph. Wind direction and velocities should be similar through Tuesday, with perhaps a slight increase Tuesday. Tyler’s highest sustaining wind Saturday was southwesterly at 12 mph with a peak gust of 18 mph and an average velocity of 7.9 mph. Friday’s average wind velocity was 8.2 mph.
Saturday’s average relative humidity was 64 percent, with slightly lower values likely Sunday and Monday. Friday’s average was 64 percent. Tyler’s high temperature of 94 came at 5:28 p.m., following the morning low of 71 at 6:36 a.m.
