Tyler Officers Participate In Texas Police Games

Three Tyler police officers recently traveled to South Padre Island to participate in the 2008 Texas Police Games.

Don Martin, the department’s public information officer, said the officers who participated were Johnny Green, Dianna St. Charles and Bart Lemons.

“Once again, as in the past competitions, the officers came home with gold medals. These officers hope to participate in the World Games next year in Vancouver, Canada,” he said.

Listed are the events, the officers participated in and medals awarded.

Officer Dianna St. Charles: won the gold for the biathlon- master division for females: and in the 5K run. She also won the bronze medal for the team tactical pistol which she competed in with retired officer John Brown. Martin said Brown won additional awards.

Officer Johnny Green: bench press senior division 198 pounds class; he lifted 415 pounds winning him the gold medal.

Officer Bart Lemons won the gold in the 220 pound class power lifting grand master division He squatted 325 pounds, bench pressed 205 pounds and completed a dead lift of 325 pounds for a total of 855 pounds.
