Wet Weather Expected This Weekend
Warmer temperatures returned to the area Wednesday afternoon, with readings reaching normal Thursday and holding there through the upcoming weekend. The sea-breeze front became active again Wednesday, spreading showers as far north as the IH-20 Corridor. Thursday should see the front reaching a Crockett-Shreveport line, with the activity holding south of Tyler.

Meanwhile, another upper air low pressure area was coming ashore over the Pacific Northwest. A disturbance associated with this feature will drop down the Plains Thursday, with others likely Friday and Saturday. This will give the area a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday through Sunday.

Areal coverage with the weekend thunderstorm lines should run under 30 percent each day, with the activity most likely along and north of the IH-30 Corridor, though it is possible as far south as the IH-20 Corridor.

Temperatures should go slightly above normal with returning upper air high pressure early next week, and likely stay there into mid-July.

Wednesday’s temperatures ran about 3 degrees above Tuesday’s, and were about 3 degrees below normal.

Wednesday’s average relative humidity was 60 percent, with higher values likely Thursday through Saturday.
