Tyler East Senior All-Stars Elimate Tyler West, 10-0
Brent Corley kept opposing batters off balance all night to help the Tyler East Senior All-Stars eliminate Tyler West, 10-0, Tuesday at Golden Road Park.

Corley completed a shortened, five-inning shutout as Tyler East wrapped up the best-of-five series in four games.

The East used the long ball effectively, putting half of its eight hits over the fence.

Clint Turman and Caleb Gibson homered back-to-back in the third, giving their team an 8-0 advantage and a comfortable lead.

Corley had runs to work with from the first inning on as Luke Wyatt and Kevan House scored in the first inning. After drawing a walk in his first at-bat, House hit a two-run shot to double his team’s lead to four in the second.

Corley went on to strike out eight and allow only three hits, all singles, and walk just two.

Gibson ended the West’s chances of a comeback with a walk-off, two-run homer that invoked the 10-run rule.

With the win, the East will advance to the Texas Section I Tournament held in Brenham, July 11-15.
