Four-Vehicle Crash Kills One, Shuts Down I-20
CANTON — Interstate 20 was shut down to traffic in Van Zandt County near Canton following a four-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler that claimed the life of one driver.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers said Monday night that they are still trying to locate the victim’s family and cannot release his name until the family is notified.

Officials with the DPS said at around 4 p.m. Monday, an 18-wheeler was passing another truck at mile marker 513 before I-20 narrowed into one lane for a construction zone. The 18-wheeler then ran into the back of a car, which was driving in front of the truck it was passing. The impact then caused the car to hit the back of a second car.

The truck driver and others involved in the crash were taken to area hospitals, DPS officials said.
