Pump Jacks Rally Past Brazos Valley
BRYAN — Adam De La Garza drew a go-ahead, bases-loaded walk in the eighth inning as the streaking East Texas Pump Jacks rallied for a 4-3 victory over Brazos Valley on Friday night.
It was the second bases-loaded walk of the inning as J.D. Dunn reached on a free pass to tie the game, 2-2.
The Pump Jacks, winners of four of their past five, added an insurance run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly RBI by Paige Hodges. Kory Cleveland recorded the final two outs in the bottom half of the inning to earn his first save.
Bryan Dixon (1-0), who pitched 2 1-3 innings of relief and allowed a run on two hits, earned his first win.
Nate Bryan went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored to lead the Pump Jacks at the plate. Hodges went 2-for-5 and Matt Curry was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Justin Murray started on the mound for East Texas and went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits with five strikeouts.
