Brownsboro's Trey Vaventine Wins Junior Golf Event
TROUP — Brownsboro’s Trey Valentine won his sixth straight junior golf event, capturing the Boys 14-15 division of a NTPGA Ewing Automotive tour event on Thursday at Hilltop Country Club.
Valentine shot a 72 and finished three strokes ahead of Rusk’s Jacob Raiborn. Tyler’s Patrick Bosley (79), Taylor Blackburn (82) and Dean Myrick (85) ended up third, fourth and sixth place, respectively.
Longview’s Michael Stuckey won the Boys 16-18 division after shooting a 73. Mark Maddux of Tyler finished fourth with a 78.
Garrett Landers of Sulphur Springs won the Boys 10-11 division with a nine-hole total of 34. William Wilder of Henderson won the Boys 12-13 division after firing an 85.
Tyler’s Christopher Wilhelmi won the Coed 7-9 group after shooting a nine-hole total of 40.
On the girls’ side, Kilgore’s Courtney Hodgkins (88), Bullard’s Maddison Malone (111) and Lauren Mekalip of Troup won the 15-18, 12-14 and 10-11 divisions, respectively.
