High School Sports

Grand Saline's Macy McMakin Signs Tennis Scholarship
Macy McMakin, of Grand Saline High School, signed to play tennis with Kansas Wesleyan University.

Attending the ceremony were (front row, from left) Kansas Wesleyan coach Brent Mooney, McMakin, father Tim McMakin; (second row) Grand Saline coach Tim Young.

McMakin and her doubles partner Samantha Treder captured district and regional championships before placing third at the Class 2A state tournament in Austin.

McMakin finished in the top 10 percent of her class and was a member of the National Honor Society. She also was all-district in volleyball.
