June 15: Terrific Column
ROSES: To the Tyler paper for publishing the writings of Walter E. Williams, especially his June column concerning pro-slavery.
He states that the average American works from Jan. 1 to April to pay his taxes and only a small portion is used for constitutional functions of the government. However, up to two-thirds of it is doled out to other Americans in forms of farm and business subsidies, Social Security, Medicare, welfare and other handouts. This column should be reprinted on the front page.
