Mother Frances Hospital Gets Highest State Rating
The state certified Mother Frances Hospital as a Distinguished Newborn Hearing Screening Program.
It is the highest rating for a birthing hospital, said Jeannie Henegan, clinical director of the Birth Center and Mother Baby Unit.
The goal is to ensure that newborns with hearing loss quickly get into services to develop speech, language and learning, she said.
Texas Department of State Health Services monitors hospital hearing screening programs.
