Lindale Teen Honored as 'Rising Star'

LINDALE — Sixteen-year-old Jarett McAlister of Lindale won honors at County Music Association’s Rising Star Vocal Competition held this month in Nashville.
McAlister, a Lindale High School junior, was recognized for best original performance for his song “I Know I am to Blame,” said information from Twenty East Agency in Tyler. He performed the song at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
He is scheduled to perform during the Colgate Country Showdown Finals set for 1:30 p.m. June 21 at the Sharon Shrine Temple on Texas Highway 31 East near Tyler.
