I was pleased to see the June 4 article regarding the Texas Department of Transportation being "out of control."

TxDOT was formerly the Texas State Highway Department which was highly respected and free of politics and corruption for many years. Of late, TxDOT has been promoting such outlandish projects as the North American Free Trade Agreement super highway corridors from Mexico across Texas and Oklahoma.

These corridors would connect with other corridors all the way to Canada. Purpose of these corridors, which Texas does not need, are to handle unrestricted traffic from Mexico and Canada through open borders. Passage across our borders would be open to everyone with no restrictions, allowing terrorists and cheap merchandise to flow into our country unlimited.

I am glad to see someone such as the Sunset Commission in our State Legislature waking up to the left-wing goals of some of our non-elected public officials who negotiate these treaties with foreign powers in secrecy. Other such outrageous treaties are being negotiated by unelected officials in secrecy including the Law of The Seas, the eight island give- away to Russia in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska and control of sea ports by Red China in America.

These happen in secrecy encouraged by the United Nations which wants to take control of the United States, take the sovereignty of the United States away and give our assets to the rest of the world.

I am a WWII veteran and those of us who offered to defend our country against all enemies take a dim view of unelected career bureaucrats who want to give our country away for whatever reason. Both State and Commerce department career bureaucrats are those negotiating in these give away deals.

If we do not wake up to these ludicrous give-away treaties, we will not have the country we knew to leave to our children and grandchildren.

Our country as bequeathed to us by our forefathers is the "Last Best Hope for Freedom" on this planet. I will not vote for any candidate who does not oppose these un-American activities as herein fore described.
