ROSES: Send roses to Patrick Butler for the series of articles written about The Salvation Army that were very accurate and conveyed the vision and dreams The Salvation Army has for developing a quality program for the youth in this community.

The youth outreach program will provide a structured, safe, and supportive environment in which the youth of this community can participate in sports, the arts and after-school tutoring/mentoring in such a way that they receive the necessary self-discipline and confidence to become contributing adults.

We are very blessed by the generous people in this community who contribute both money and time to these worthwhile programs.

As a retired educator and a volunteer for The Salvation Army, I firmly believe next to salvation, education is the most important component for breaking the cycle of poverty.
