Freemans In Concert Tonight At Music Hall
The Texas Gospel Music Hall of Athens, 6513 Highway 19 South, will present the Southern Gospel group, “The Freemans,” at 6 p.m. Saturday. Lead singer Chris Freeman was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Also performing will be a male trio from Dallas called “Ransomed.”

New Zion Baptist Church of Winona, 702 Church Drive, will hold a health fair, “Mission Possible” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 14. Free mammograms, PSA screenings, spinal exams, glaucoma screening, vision screening and blood pressure checks will be available. There will also be a fire truck, EMS vehicle and medical helicopter for inspection. A blood drive will be held by the Carter Blood Care, Stewart Center.
“We do this every year, and it’s free,” said Claudia Butler, RN, an event organizer. “We will address these and numerous other health-related issues.”

The Lindale Knights of Columbus will host their first special event fundraiser, “Kids Day Out 2008 — A Day of Magic” at the Lindale High School Cafetorium Saturday, 920 E. Hubbard, on June 14.
“This is an event to give the kids in our community a day of fun,” said Paul Pasterczyk, event organizer. The event will feature Tim Tegge’s Mystification.
New Days Community Church, 901 N. Broadway Ave., will play host to a free concert by North Shore High School Gospel Choir, “Teens of Praise,” at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The youth of the West Union Baptist Church, 1223 W. Lacy St., Palestine, will sponsor a Youth Extravaganza starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.
“We are anticipating solos, praise dancers, puppets, and drill teams,” said Debra Hawkins of West Union. The Rev. Kilton McCracken of New Behold Baptist Church will bring the Youth Day message at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The Noonday Holiness Camp Meeting will gather for its annual meeting about four miles north of Hallsville on Farm-to-Market Road 450 June 8-15, keeping alive a tradition started in 1898, said Bonnie Cain, vice president of the organization’s board of directors. Cross Brand Cowboy Church, 11915 FM 2015, continues its Youth Ranch Rodeo Series on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29. Check-in starts at 9 a.m. and the Rodeo begins at 10 a.m. Saturday.
