Low Temperatures Today Expected In 70s
Monday was again warm and breezy in the area, with increasing winds likely from Tuesday through Thursday along with continuing warm temperatures.

Upper air high pressure was centered over West Texas on Monday. This sent temperatures into the 90s Monday afternoon in the region, with no rain anywhere close. Monday's temperatures ran a degree or so warmer than those of Sunday, and were about 6 degrees above normal. Similar or slightly higher temperatures are likely Tuesday and Wednesday.

Low readings Monday morning were from near 70 in the northeast to the middle 70s in the southwest near Sunday's. Low temperatures Tuesday through Thursday mornings should run in the 70s. Monday's high temperatures were a couple of degrees above those of Sunday. High readings from Tuesday through Thursday should again be in the lower to middle 90s.

Some low clouds formed around daybreak, but these dissipated by mid-morning. Skies during the afternoon were partly cloudy. Similar sky cover patterns are likely both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Winds on Monday were southerly at 10-20 mph. Southerly winds at higher velocities are forecast from Tuesday through Thursday, with the possibility of a wind advisory during that time.

with a peak gust of 26 mph, and an average velocity of 12.8 mph. Sunday's average wind velocity was 9.8 mph.
