  • The Texas Access to Justice Foundation announced it presented Lindale State Bank, an independent community bank, with its Prime Partner Award for outstanding contributions to legal aid for the poor during a May 2 Smith County Bar Association luncheon.

  • The foundation receives most of its funding from interest on lawyers' trust accounts, and uses this money for grants to legal aid providers in Texas. Prime Partner banks, which pay higher interest rates than other participating banks, have a direct, positive impact on the amount of money available to help low-income Texans with civil legal issues, according to information from the foundation.
