AARP Offers Driver Safety Course May 27-28
An AARP Driver Safety course is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 27-28 at the Senior Citizens Center, 1915 Garden Valley Road, Tyler
The course is for any driver with a driver license. Membership in AARP is not required.
The class covers such topics as effect of aging and medication on driving skills, driving rules and crash prevention.
“In other words the class will refresh your memory on many techniques you may have forgotten and even new rules you should know about driving,” AARP spokesperson Texanna Crutchfield said.
Those completing the two-day training, including four hours each day for the eight hours required, will receive a certificate and may be eligible for a percentage off automobile insurance for three years for the cost of $10 for each individual. The course fee should be paid by check or money order, not cash, to be payable to AARP. To enroll, call 903-597-8912.
