Barron Chapter, Sons of the America Revolution, Schedules Meeting May 27
The Capt. William Barron Chapter, Sons of the America Revolution, has scheduled a dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 27 at the Tyler Woman’s Building, 911 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler.

Chapter President Stephen Lee will preside at the meeting. William Covington, “The Continental Soldier,” will present a program on the Revolutionary War. Covington, an educator and noted authority on Revolutionary War history, will display artifacts and discuss the Continental Army uniform, Lee said.

The chapter will present the SAR Law Enforcement Award to Officer Shane Jasper of the Tyler Police Department at the meeting.

Also scheduled is the recognition of Eagle Scout essay winner, Clinton Willbanks, who will receive the Chapter’s SAR Eagle Scout Award.

Reservations are required by Thursday and may be made by calling 903-561-0085.
