UT Tyler Achievement Auditions Held In April
Achievement Auditions, a judged piano event sponsored by East Texas Music Teachers Association, was held April 18 and 19 on the campus of The University of Texas at Tyler.

Some 150 students performed in three memorized piano pieces in individually-judged auditions. The judges were Dr. Maria Guenette, (Tyler Junior College); Dr. Luis Sanchez, (Texas A&M at Commerce) and Dr. Christy Vogt, (McNeese State University).

Friday afternoon auditioners included Will Arnold, Ancel Carson, Trace Brimer, Andrew Cox, Caleb Youngblood, Hannah Frazier and Derrick Wong. Also were Grace Hendricks, Jordan Pamatmat, Jarod Pamatmat, Kara Kuczkowski, Katy Kuczkowski, Rishi Jethva, Thomas Nance and Megan Pirtle. Others included Kathryn Baggs, Kushan Gupta, Angela Fu, William Kariampuzha, David McCook, Abby Boudreau, Bea Fe Estrelles, Ara Manalac and Jasper Delim. Also Emily Williams, Blane Brimer, Bethany Cox Andre Youngblood, Daniel McKnight, Caroline Schlener, Kate Googins, Alexandrea Brooks, Emily Nance, Drew Creath, Jonathan Baggs, Bryce Jackson, Adam Erwin and Sharon Kariampuzha. In addition, Caroline Callender, Ethan Duckworth, Alex Berne, Hannah Root, Katy Clayton, Ellen Johnston, Hamlyn Fielder, Gentry Fielder, Anna Hayden and Lexa Arante. Lastly, Aliehs Lee, Courtney White, Erica Lassen, Lauren Callender, Ryann Money, Kate Quin, Bret Blevins, Russell McCook and Ashley Langston.

Saturday morning auditioners were Charles Tulio,Gabrielle Mercado, Christine Arago, Kristine Guevara, Abbie Guevara, Emilie Casper, Alison Casper, Nicholas Truong and Robert Ceccoli. Also were Claire Mittica, Latie Lauffer, Jenna Stephens, Sofija Chroneos, Caroline Boylan, Rhea Doctor, Anna Negem, Grace Negem, Lara Tarrant and Christina Ritch. Others included Joby Bevan, Eric Le, Zoe Epps, Antonio Grahm, Aza Pace, Virginia Nix, Whitley Cannon, Melissa Nelson, Kristin Goodwin, Jaclyn Hahn, Jessica Emery and Gene Lewis. Lastly Natalie Koop, Brandi Koop, Elizabeth Starr, Madison Mackey, Hannah Mittica, Peter Goodwin, Emily Droder, Christa Wood, Ellen Burton and Brian Eng.

Those who auditioned Saturday afternoon included Charlene Llave, Chrstine Frith, Mary Ellen Northcut, Austin Davis, Joe Parks, Jenna Parks, Madison Parks,Caroline Callender, Mitalit Ghuge, Sydney Creath, Kenzie Creath and Cameron Forehand. Also were Mekaela Mirano, Caroline Norton, Kyle Ferrer, Keanu Pouraryan, Carina Pouraryan, Ian Finlay, Rhea Dhakal and Janna Kahler. In addition, Daniel English, Sarah English, Aja Kruse, G.P. Cole, Garrett Farmer, Rianna Bush, Reagan Bush, Caitlin Bice, Ethan Barton, Asher Fanous, Noah Fanous and Sarah Thomas. Others were Anaelisa Vasquez, Daryn McMinn, Brett Fowler, Johannah Carmon, Matthew Deleon, Lindsey Tapia, Katie Cloud, Gabrielle Steele, Keri Davis, Cliff Brookshire and Maria Chroneos. Lastly, Sam Walker, Aaron Fanous, Tyler Forehand, Brian Cousineau, Kevin Ridad, Ava Dhakal, Chris Finlay, Jamie Apoderado and Meredith Cole.

To conclude the Auditions, an Honors Recital was presented April 20 in UT Tyler's Braithwaite Recital Hall. Those selected to play were Trace Brimer, Johannah Carmona, Sydney Creath, Kyle Ferrer, Angela Fu, Gabrielle Mercado, Caroline Callender, Caroline Boylan, Andrew Cox, Sarah English, Bea Fe Estrelles, Charlene Llave, Derrick Wong, Mitali Ghuge, Abbie Guevara, Peter Goodwin, Ellen Burton, G.P. Cole, Eric Le, Aliehs Lee, Ellen Johnston, Gentry Fielder, Antonio Grahm, Brandi Koop and Sam Walker.

Following the recital, trophies were presented to those students who have participated in the Auditions long enough to amas trophy points in two categories. Receiving fifteen point trophies were Sarah English, Will Arnold, Brett Blevins, Reagan Bush, Johannah Carmona, Andrew Cox, Bethany Cox, Ava Dhakal and Daniel English. Others were Chris Finlay, Cameron Forehand, Tyler Forehand, Kristin Goodwin, Brandi Koop and Katie Lauffer. Lastly, Daryn McMinn, Emily Nance, Melissa Nelson, Kevin Ridad, Emily Williams, Derrick Wong and Christa Wood. Thirty-point trophy winners included Alexandra Brooks, Emily Droder and Virgina Nix.

East Texas Music Teachers Association members whose students participated in the 2008 Achievement Auditions include Judy Wilkins, Cynthia Reno, Glenda Moore, Meg Miller, Jean Mabe, David Lee, Stephanie Johnson, Alison Isbell, Gail Hill, Maria Guenette, Clarrissa Ewen, Helen Elbert, Shelly Davis, Kelli Cooper, Vicki Conway, Donna Calaway, Leah Brown and Brian Braquet.
