High School Sports

The Tyler Morning Telegraph is currently accepting nominations for the All-East Texas Track and Field Team.

The team will include male and female superlatives for Trackster of the Year, Underclassman of the Year (outstanding freshman or sophomore) and a Coach of the Year.

Individual places on the boys' and girls' teams will be selected for throwers (shot put and discus), jumpers (long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vaulters), hurdlers (100/110 and 300-meter hurdles), sprinters (100, 200 and 400-meter dashes and relay members), runners (800, 1600 and 3200-meter runs), utility performers (multi-event athletes) and an outstanding relay team.

Coaches are urged to either fax in nominations, along with contact information and the athlete's classification, to (903) 595-0335, e-mail them to hwilson@tylerpaper.com or call them in to the attention of Harold Wilson at (903) 596-6276.
