Lake Fork Fish Keep Biting
As tough as big bass fishing has been this spring, Lake Fork Trophy Bass report for April showed an increase of about 10 percent from 2007.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department biologist Kevin Storey said 241 largemouth bass were entered in April, 14.9 percent of which weighed over 10 pounds. Additionally, 35.5 percent of the measured fish were above the slot.

Since the project was begun in March 2003, 9,014 fish have been recorded. Sixteen percent of fish weighed were above 10 pounds and 32.6 percent of the measured fish topped 24 inches.

Storey said April could have been better had it not been for the weather.

"The weather interfered with fish and fishing and it threw normal spawning behavior out the window," he said.
