LeTourneau Professor Plans Nanowires Research
LONGVIEW — LeTourneau University associate professor of chemistry Dr. Gary DeBoer this summer will conduct research at the U.S. Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C., according to the university.

DeBoer will study nanowires, microscopically tiny wires.

“We will use Raman spectroscopy techniques to evaluate nanowires made through electro-chemical methods,” DeBoer said. “Nanowires are already used in many electronic applications such as micro fuel cell membranes and may ultimately be used in many more electronics applications such as TVs and iPods.”
