Longview Child Injured When Truck Backs Into Him
LONGVIEW — Longview police say a child was taken to the hospital after his grandmother backed into him with her truck.

Police reported that 42-year-old Gloria Norris, of Longview, was backing out of her driveway in her 1994 GMC truck when her 2-year-old grandson, Rodrick Pierce, ran behind the vehicle. Officials said Ms. Norris did not see the boy run behind her truck, and she continued to back out and hit him.

Police responded to the accident in the 800 block of Walnut Street around 5:30 p.m. The boy was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center with incapacitating injuries, officials said.

Longview police said the accident is still under investigation.
