Edgewood’s Jameson, Mabank’s Browning Receive Basketball MVP Awards
Weston Jameson, Edgewood’s sharpshooting guard, was named Most Valuable Player in District 16-2A basketball, the league’s coaches announced.

Jameson helped the Bulldogs to the Class 2A Region II Tournament.

Alba-Golden’s Darrin Longoria of Alba-Golden was Offensive Player of the Year, while Edgewood’s Chase Sage earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.

The Newcomer of the Year was Darrius Rogers of Edgewood and Grand Saline’s Taylor Phelps was tabbed Freshman of the Year.

The Coaching Staffs of the Year were Winnsboro, Alba-Golden and district champions Edgewood.
