Bullard Lady Panthers Fall To Liberty-Eylau In Class 3A Softball Quarterfinals
MARSHALL — In a battle of two of the better pitchers in East Texas, Lacey Middlebrooks and Erin Kipp hooked up in the Class 3A Region II quarterfinals series at East Texas Baptist University.

The two pitchers battled with two 1-0 contests that the Lady Leopards won on two unearned runs.

In the second of the best-of-three the two pitchers battled 18 innings before the Lady Leopards prevailed 1-0, when they scored on an errant throw from the outfield.

Catcher Allison Burton doubled for the Lady Panthers.

Liberty-Eylau won 1-0 over the Lady Panthers Friday in the opening game on an unearned run in the sixth inning.

Erin Kipp had four strikeouts and limited LE to just four hits.

Middlebrooks had 12 strikeouts for the Lady Leopards.

Falls In Semis

WACO — Bullard Brook Hill’s state run ended in the TAPPS 3A semifinals Friday as the Lady Guard fell to Fort Worth Bethesda 3-1 at Waco I.S.D.’s Field No. 2.

Brook Hill (11-2-1) was aiming to reach its first TAPPS 3A championship game in school history.
