Stephen F. Austin’s Women’s Basketball Coach Riley Honored
NACOGDOCHES — Stephen F. Austin women’s basketball coach Lee Ann Riley was honored as a special service recipient recently for her contributions to sports by the Nacogdoches chapter of the American Association of University Women.

“So much of our job is based on wins and losses,” said Riley, who led the Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies to the NJCAA national title in 2000. “It is a humbling experience to be represented by your peers who are not affiliated with coaching.”

Riley has accumulated a 116-91 record in her seven seasons at SFA, which has included two Southland Conference titles, two NCAA tournament appearances and a berth in the 2007 Women’s NIT.

The AAUW is an organization for college graduates that focuses on women’s issues, education, community action, public policy and legal advocacy.
