May 9: Roger Waters' Message Should Not Have Been a Surprise
I cannot help but be amused at Mr. Reynolds' May 5 letter concerning the Roger Waters Dallas concert: "May 5: British Musician Brought Disgusting Message to Dallas."

What Pink Floyd fan of 35 years would not be familiar with Roger Waters' political views? Mr. Waters has never been shy about his anti-establishment beliefs. Distrust of authority, particularly government, educational, religious and military institutions, is a frequent theme in Mr. Waters' writing. This is, after all, the man who wrote the lyrics to 1973's "Dark Side of the Moon," 1979's "The Wall" and 1983's “The Final Cut.”

Mr. Waters' dislike of the current U.S. president is consistent with Mr. Waters' political and philosophical beliefs. This should come as no surprise to a Pink Floyd fan of 35 years. Mr. Reynolds should have known what was in store.

His reaction would be like a “fan” going to a Hank Williams Jr. concert and complaining about Mr. Williams drinking whiskey and wearing a cowboy hat.
