Comics in Tyler: Jeff Dunham on Saturday, 'D.C.' in June

Comic Don "D.C." Curry is scheduled to appear Saturday, June 21 in Tyler's Caldwell Auditorium, publicity officials announced.

Showtime is 8 p.m.

He's appeared on BET's "Comic View," "Def Comedy Jam" and had a role in the movie "Friday After Next."

WILDWOOD CONCERT
Emily Kaitz with Bruce Jones and the East Side Flash are scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, during the Wildwood Concert Series, officials announced.

Songwriter and dobro player, Kaitz has released eight CDs and her songs have been recorded by Chet Atkins, Trout Fishing in America and the Austin Lounge Lizards.

Wildwood Concerts is a volunteer-run series of concerts presented on a monthly basis, and supported by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Tyler. A portion of the proceeds will benefit PATH. Refreshments include coffee, tea, soft drinks, and desserts.


Joe Ely To Play for TMA
Grammy Award-winning Texas troubadour Joe Ely will usher in the return of the Tyler Museum of Art's Texas Songwriter Series with a live performance beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, May 16 in Tyler Junior College's Jean Browne Theatre, TMA officials announced.

Joining Ely for the debut of this intimate concert series will be rising Texas and Americana music star Jason Eady, scheduled to hit the stage as the show opener at 7 p.m. Ely's performance begins at approximately 8 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for TMA members and $25 for non-members in advance, and $30 at the door pending availability. Museum members are invited for a post-show reception at the TMA immediately following the concert, with dessert and coffee provided by Starbuck's. Concert seating is limited, so patrons are encouraged to make early reservations by calling (903) 595-1001.

Concert sponsors are RBC Wealth Management, Sandy and Joe Shepherd, Tyler Junior College and Starbuck's.

The Tyler Museum of Art is located at 1300 S. Mahon Ave., adjacent to the Tyler Junior College campus off East Fifth Street. Regular hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (903) 595-1001 or visit www.tylermuseum.org.
