Winona VFD Sets Fundraiser, Cookout
Winona Volunteer Fire Department is scheduled to hold its annual community fundraising sale and cookout from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Central Fire Station, on the corner of Wildcat Drive and Farm-to-Market Road 16.
“Winona VFD is a strictly volunteer organization that depends on fundraising and donations from the community to be able to provide fire protection for the Winona Fire District of Smith County,” WVFD spokeswoman Paula Ray Hiett said.
Saturday’s activities include live music, door prizes and bargain sale items. The cookout costs $5 per plate and includes a hamburger or two hot dogs, chips and a drink.
Booths are available for rent to participate in the sale and all donations of non-clothing items are welcome. Proceeds from the event will go toward trucks, equipment and training for WVFD. For information or to reserve a table, call 903-360-4949.
