Tyler Junior College Athletics Receives Commemorative Gift
The Tyler Junior College intercollegiate athletics office has a souvenir from the 2000 NJCAA Women’s National Championship basketball championship, said the college.

Tyler Junior College sociology instructor Rebecca Foster donated a game basketball signed by the players from the 2000 national championship in Salina, Kan.

The ball was recently presented to TJC Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Tim Drain; TJC Board of Trustees member Peggy Smith; and Deborah Welch, TJC instructor/department chair for business administration and athletics advisory committee member.

“Somehow we missed getting an autographed game ball from our ladies’ championship team,” Drain said in a prepared statement. “Rebecca had the girls sign a ball after the team won the championship in Salina."

Drain said the ball will be displayed with balls autographed by players from the 1949 and 1951 men’s NJCAA championship teams coached by Floyd Wagstaff.

Foster has taught at TJC since 1967.
