Dead Body Found in Southern Smith County Ditch
Smith County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a dead body found Tuesday evening in a ditch along County Road 113 in the southern part of the county.
According to Sheriff’s Lt. Larry Wiginton, the person did not die in the ditch. It appears the person died elsewhere and was moved to the ditch, Wiginton told the Tyler Paper.
A man riding a tractor saw something in the ditch last night, Wiginton said, and it turned out to be the body of a white male, probably in his 40s. The body has not been identified.
