Lindale Firefighters Control Doughnut Palace Blaze

A Lindale firefighter cuts through the siding to get to burning insulation of a fire of the Doughnut Palace on Main St. in Lindale Wednesday afternoon.
Fire and heavy smoke damaged the Doughnut Palace Today in Lindale.
Fire crews responded to the report of black smoke pouring from the back of the shop shortly after 4 p.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street. Within 30 minutes Lindale Fire Department firefighters had the blaze under control. The shop had closed at around noon, firefighters said on the scene.

Lindale Police Department officers closed parts of U.S. Highway 69 running downtown for several hours.
Fire investigators said they plan to enter the building within the next few hours to begin looking into the cause of the fire.
