Fold the paper in half so it opens like a book.
Use the crayons and write a note to Mom on the inside panels. Tell her why you love her and thank her for all the things she does everyday. Feel free to draw pictures, too.
With the second sheet of paper, cut out a flower stem with leaves (as shown in photo). Set aside.
Next, stack the tissue paper and cut a 2- to 3-inch wide strip 8 inches long, making sure to cut through all the pieces.
Fold it in half and cut along the fold into equal parts. Stack one set of paper on top of the other.
Fold the tissue in half long ways. Staple in the center.
Begin separating the tissues, alternating sides, pulling each piece toward the staple. The project should begin to resemble a poofy flower.
Glue the "stem" on the front of the card, then attach the "flower." The glue stick works well because the tissue paper will immediately adhere to it.
Present the card to Mom with toast and jam or whatever breakfast you've planned.
