Area Should Start Warming Up Sunday
Saturday was sunny and unseasonably cool in the area, with a warming trend set to begin Sunday ahead of an early-week storm system.
High pressure built into the area from the north behind Friday’s cold front, which finally made it out of the area overnight Friday/Saturday. This resulted in a north wind at between 10 and 15 mph with occasionally higher gusts, and temperatures 7 degrees below Friday’s on average and 10 degrees below normal.
Temperatures on Sunday should run a few degrees warmer, with readings back to normal by Monday.
Low temperatures Saturday morning were up to 20 degrees cooler than Friday morning’s temperatures before the squall line passed through. Minimums were from the high 40s in the north to the lower 60s in the south. Temperatures will be near Saturday’s levels Sunday morning, but should warm by about 10 degrees for Monday morning.
Afternoon high temperatures were about 10 degrees below Friday’s, and ran from the lower 60s in the north to the middle 70s in the south. High readings Sunday should be 5-8 degrees warmer, with temperatures near 80 on Monday afternoon.
Tyler’s highest sustaining wind on Saturday was northerly at 22 mph with a peak gust of 31 mph and an average velocity was 12.0 mph.
Saturday’s average relative humidity was 60 percent, with lower values likely Sunday and higher values Monday.
Tyler’s high temperature Saturday of 71 came at 4:29 p.m., following the morning’s low of 52 at 8:24 a.m.
