Arthritis Walk Saturday At Rose Rudman Park
The East Texas Arthritis Walk, to be held Saturday at Rose Rudman Park, is designed to raise funds and awareness to help prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases, walk spokesperson Nancy Johnson said.
The 2008 walk is a 1 mile/5K walk/run that will begin at the Copeland Road entrance to Rose Rudman Park. There will be a Health Fair, as well as kids activities, Ms. Johnson said.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. , followed by the walk at 10 a.m. Walkers are encouraged to bring their dogs and register for the Dog Walk.
The local 2008 Heroes for the East Texas Walk are 12-year-old Mikayla Martin, a sixth grader who was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at age 9, and her aunt, Stephanie Mosier, a mother of two boys, who was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 28.
