April 29: Tyler ISD's Big Promises
RANT: It is always interesting (and amusing) to read something about teaching, curriculum, instruction, etc. in the Tyler public schools. There's always a big promise of something to come with changes that are taking place currently, but it seems those big promises never really materialize. And $$$ are always attached to whatever they are doing. I am referring to the Sunday article by Mrs. Tunnell in which she says lots of things about excellence, etc., but the fact remains campuses are getting slapped on the hands once again. Why not keep Mrs. Walsh's computer lab in place? I know for a fact that the kiddos are learning and technology is the way of the future. Maybe it just didn't fit into Mrs. Tunnell's plans. Where do school districts get people who want to dictate to campuses what to do? I wonder. That's why my tax dollars no longer support Tyler public schools because we moved out of your district!
