Temperatures To Remain Mild
A strong late-season cold front brought widespread showers and a few thunderstorms to the region Sunday, along with a chill north wind.
Tyler City received 0.29 inch of rain Sunday morning in showers between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., while the airport measured 0.14 inch.
Rainfall in the area Sunday ranged from none across the south to nearly an inch in the northeast. Areal coverage was about 60 percent.
The front reached Tyler about 8 a.m., shifting winds into the north, with velocities increasing to 15-25 mph with higher gusts.
Skies were cloudy overnight and for much of the day, with clearing beginning about 4 p.m.
Sunday's temperatures ran about 7 degrees lower than those of Saturday, and about 10 degrees below normal.
Monday's readings should average near Sunday's, with temperatures warming by about 6 degrees Tuesday.
Low temperatures in the area were from the 50s in the north and central to the lower 60s in the south, and came from late-morning through early-afternoon behind the cold front.
Low temperatures Monday morning should be in the 40s region-wide, and will warm to range from the middle 40s to middle 50s Tuesday morning with readings rising from east to west.
High temperatures Sunday were from the 60s in the north to the lower 70s in the south, and came at midnight in the north and at late-afternoon elsewhere.
