Komen Race Registration Opportunities Available
There's still time to register for the 10th annual Susan G. Komen Tyler Race for the Cure, set for May 10 at Bergfeld Park on South Broadway Avenue, Tyler.
"The Komen Race Series is the world's largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer. The race attracts people of all ages and fitness levels. Although most participants choose to walk or jog, elite runners are also drawn to this event," said Ellen Peirce, Tyler Race for the Cure media relations chair.
All Komen Race for the Cure courses are certified by USA Track and Field. The first 5,000 registrants are guaranteed a T-shirt, Mrs. Peirce said.
SURVIVORS
Breast cancer survivors are celebrated through the National Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program. Breast cancer survivors who wish to be recognized wear complimentary pink caps and T-shirts. In addition, all participants are encouraged to wear "In Memory Of" and "In Honor Of" back signs, honoring loved ones for their strength and courage.
