Arterburn Speaks At Green Acres
Arterburn
Author, speaker and Christian radio counselor Steve Arterburn spoke at Green Acres Baptist Church at 7 p.m. tonight. The nationally known author will speak on “Reframing Your Life” at the free event.

Arterburn, a native Texan, has written 80 books and is the founder of New Life Ministries based in Laguna Beach, California. He wrote the multi-million selling “Every Man’s Battle” and is a frequent “fill-in” speaker for Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church when Warren is away. Warren wrote “The 40 Days of Purpose” one of the best-selling books of all time.

“Reframing means a lot of different things,” he said in a Thursday phone interview. “It’s taking a second look at life and finding meaning and purpose. It’s getting into the life of another person perspective than focusing on your own.”

What that means is taking often painful experiences of life, and investigating if your own perceptions are justified.

“Many times we base our lives on what we think happened, our responses on what we believe another’s motivation to be. What if that was wrong? You’re not excusing what was done, but seeing if something was done for a right reason in perhaps a wrong way. It could change how we approach life if it was only looked at from another perspective.”

Arterburn will have a Men’s Only meeting on Saturday. On Sunday he will speak at the Green Acres worship services.
