LeTourneau University Engineering Students Win Competitions
LONGVIEW - LeTourneau University engineering students won competitions this month, announced the university.
Joshua Baumgartner, of Antonio; Benjamin Reed, of Wenatchee, Wash.; and Lincoln Stannard, of Chicago, won a competition to build a robot that cleaned a window.
Richard Godley, of Temple, and Steve Gilbertson of Sierra Vista, Ariz., won a competition to use analog and digital design to create a system that turned off lights in rooms left unoccupied.
LETU won a competition sponsored by Lockheed Martin to build and fly an 8-pound, radio-controlled airplane that could lift, carry and land a 30-pound payload.
Team members were Nathan Brower, of Keller; Joshua Hasty. of Dallas; Adam Noble, of Des Moines, Iowa; Tim Shirley, of Idyllwild, Calif.; Joshua Shutts, of Borger; Daniel Williams, of Tigard, Ore.; Andrew Burgess, of Longview; Josh Trempert, of Nampa, Idaho; and Tim Storm, of Chicago. Sponsors were Lauren Bitikofer and Greg Reynolds.
