A Tyler woman who claimed country music star Miranda Lambert assaulted her at a weekend show was arrested on Friday by sheriff’s deputies for filing a false report, a misdemeanor, and is being held at the Smith County jail.

Aisha Esbay told Lt. Larry Wiginton this week that when she approached Lambert at a CD release party at Bootleggers club in Tyler on Saturday night, the star cussed at her and shoved her several times.

But Wiginton said that after conducting interviews, deputies sought to arrest Esbay for filing a false report.

“Her story did not check out,” Lt. Larry Wiginton told the Tyler Paper on Friday afternoon. “She and her mother are the only ones who saw it that way. No one else in the establishment, including bartenders and wait staff corroborated her story.”

Lambert, a Lindale native, made an appearance at the club where a CD release party was being held for singer Adam Hood, Bootleggers officials said. Lambert was not performing.

Esbay told the Tyler Paper on Tuesday she couldn’t believe the mistreatment she received from the country singer.

“I’m not suing anyone and don’t want anything from Miranda … what I am doing by filing the report is letting her know that just because she is famous she can’t do this to other people,” Esbay said Tuesday.
