Yantis Leads Class A Golf
NACOGDOCHES - Yantis combined for a 335 to lead by 12 strokes after Monday's first round of the Class A Region III Golf Tournament at Piney Woods Country Club.
Lindsey is second at 347, while LaPoynor and Muenster are tied for third at 369. Cross Roads (372) and Grapeland (380) are next in line.
The second round is Tuesday. The top two teams advance to state.
Ruston Boyd of Grapeland leads the medalist race with a 75.
Yantis' Cord Burnett is tied for third with a round of 80. Teddy Brabham of Bloomburg and Keith Hermes of Lindssay are tied with Burnett.
